"Wolf Like Me" is the first single from the TV on the Radio album Return to Cookie Mountain, released in the United Kingdom on July 25, 2006 on 4AD Records. The single's B-side was the song "Things You Can Do", which was also available as a bonus track on the U.S. release of Return to Cookie Mountain. It was released in two formats, CD single and 7" vinyl. It is a tribute to Howlin' Wolf.
The song is the band's most successful single in the United States, where it peaked at #37 on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart in 2006.[1] And was their second top 100 hit in the UK where it peaked at #89.[2]
In January 2010 it was used in a TV commercial (Destiny - Force Fate) by Nike to promote the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The music video for "Wolf Like Me" starring spoken word poet Beau Sia was directed by Jon Watts and mixes two cinematic styles: black-and-white silent film and 1980s B-movie. America's Next Top Model cycle 4 winner Naima Mora was also featured in the video.
"Wolf Like Me" features on the soundtrack of the popular Xbox 360 video game Project Gotham Racing 4, Need for Speed: ProStreet,the soundtrack for The Invisible and also in the 2008 film Never Back Down. It can also be heard during the closing minutes of episode 2 of season 4 of the American drama Rescue Me, in a season 4 episode of One Tree Hill, and near the start of the season 3 premiere of CBS show Criminal Minds. This song can also be found on the snowboarding video Optimistic? by Absinthe Films as well as the ski movie "Seven Sunny Days" by Matchstick Productions for Mark Abma's segment. Lastly, the very beginning of Wolf Like Me can be heard at the beginning of the American commercial for the film Street Kings. The song was also covered by rock duo Local H. It appears as a B-side on the limited edition 7" single for "24 Hour Break-Up Session," which was given away with the release of 2008's Twelve Angry Months. It has featured in the drama series Numb3rs as a backing track for a mixed martial arts episode similar to it being featured in Never Back Down. It is also a downloadable track for the Rock Band series. It is featured on the video game Guitar Hero 5. The song was also the theme used for the Nike "Force Fate" campaign in Canada during the run-up to the 2010 Winter Olympics.
It was voted in at number 63 in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2006, and at number 99 in the Triple J Hottest 100 of All Time, 2009
